Jambo — I’m Joy
The teacher behind the lessons.
A TEFL-certified educator from Kenya, native in Kiswahili and English, teaching learners around the world one conversation at a time.
Hello, karibu.
My name is Joy, and I’m a qualified teacher from Kenya. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education, specialising in Kiswahili and History, along with a TEFL certificate — and over the past four years, my love of languages has led me to focus on teaching Kiswahili and English to students all over the world.
I believe learning a language should feel less like studying and more like a conversation with a friend. My lessons are interactive, practical, and shaped around each student — whether your goal is to build conversational skills, sharpen your grammar, or understand the culture behind the words.
Outside the classroom, I enjoy reading, exploring different cultures, and creative projects that keep me growing as an educator. My aim is simple: to make your learning journey both enjoyable and effective.

My approach.
Over the years I’ve developed a flexible, student-centred way of teaching that focuses on four things:
Personalised lessons — tailored to your goals, interests, and level.
Interactive learning — real conversation, real-life examples, and plenty of practice.
Clear explanations — grammar and vocabulary broken down until they genuinely make sense.
Cultural insight — so you don’t just learn the language, you understand the world it lives in.
Learning Kiswahili or English opens doors — for travel, business, study, or simply connecting with people. With me, you won’t just learn the language; you’ll gain the confidence to actually use it.
